Counselling in Gloucestershire
Recuitment at Listening Post

Training Manager

Listening Post is a long established counselling charity delivering counselling and counsellor training in Gloucestershire.  Our trainings enable a gradual progression through to full qualification as a practising counsellor and are validated by the CPCAB – the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body.  The trainings enjoy a growing reputation and serve as resource for the charity’s own counsellor recruitment.

We are currently recruiting for a Training Manager who will act as a Co-tutor on our Counselling Diploma course and who will manage and promote all three levels of training currently offered by Listening Post – our Introduction to Listening Skills, our Counselling Skills and Studies Course (Levels 2 + 3) and our Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Level 4).  The Diploma integrates both Psychodynamic and Person Centred modalities.

This post will suit an established counsellor with experience of delivering counsellor training (or training in a related field) who has a commitment to maintaining high standards and an enthusiasm for promoting our courses.  The post includes line managing a small team of experienced Listening Post trainers and liaising with the CPCAB as required.  It requires the capacity to teach a Person Centred counselling modality and an understanding and appreciation of Psychodynamic theory.  Above all it requires a genuine interest in supportively enabling the personal and reflective growth that underpins counsellor training.

As one of only three leading managerial posts within the company, the post also provides an opportunity to work within a close counselling community, to influence and develop future training and to enjoy highly subsidised CPD seminars.

Time Commitment as Training Manager:  2.5 hours a week allocated to the managerial, promotional and administrative responsibilities of the role to start immediately.

Time Commitment as Core Tutor on Diploma Course:  Initially, from September 2017, 1 afternoon to evening teaching session a week over 3 terms rising to 2 afternoon to evening teaching sessions a week from September 2018.

Salary:  £31,200 pro rata, in 2017 - £6,765 (451 hours) and in 2018 - £11,580 (772 hours)
